This first solo exhibition of visual artist and filmmaker Mona Benyamin, presented by Triangle-Astérides — a nationally recognized contemporary art center and resident structure at Friche Belle de Mai, in collaboration with B7L9 in Tunis — will feature a new installation based on her ongoing research into the relationship between sound and power, as well as three earlier videos in which questions of memory and identity are embodied by her parents. Mona Benyamin’s work references television culture, and she uses humor and irony as a political tool for critical reflection.
