Comme un Western

Philip Berg (invited : Baptiste Aimé), Camille Castillon, Aurore Clavier and Jiajing Wang

From June 20 to November 29, 2025

Build an exhibition like a set, a set that would resemble that of a Western, a dry, wild landscape, sparsely planted, especially mineral, when space becomes the horizon. Because the Western is all about inventing landscapes. Born and etched forever in the imagination of the American West, the genre has nevertheless been renewed in Chile, Argentina, Mongolia, China, Australia, Iceland and South Africa, wherever the conquest of new spaces rhymes with violence between men, and between men and nature. It is the stuff of legend and fiction, the stuff of fantasy for over a century of cinema and literature.

Meeting the artists and discovering their work gave rise to the idea of this shared set, like an abandoned film set, with objects gradually coming together during the months of preparation for the exhibition. Light, sound, painting, photography, sculpture, architecture and even graphic design come together to form a composite vision in which the human figure is absent.
