Marseille Design Méditerranée

By promoting synergies between the different actors in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, whether they are cultural, economical, industrial or associative, institutionnal, business or education system , Marseille Design Méditerranée’s ambition is to fully contribute to the growth of design in the mediterranean area. Acting as a meeting ground for creators, Marseille Design Méditerrannée aims to gather collective energies to emulate and encourage new dynamics and local design development, while maintaining a strong and open identity.

As a must-see cultural event of the early fall season, this year’s Art-o-rama opens its doors to design by inviting Marseille Design Méditerrannée. With a dedicated space at the hearth of this large scale and significant event for Marseille’s cultural life, it is with great delight that we present the work of three talented local designers whose diverse practices echo each other.

The work of Coralie Gourguechon aims to strip objets to the core in order to reveal their technical principle and uncover their true essence. As surprising as it may sound in the design field, Lundja Medjoub invites us to focus on our ability to listen by dematerializing her creations. Finally, Sarah Viguer draws her inspiration from weaving and tire recycling artisanal techniques from Burkina Faso. She offers a selection of textiles resulting from her collaborative researches between Ouagadougou and France, plunging us into the stories each of them tells.

To pursue the experience, we invite you to consult our professional directory for southern designers, where you will found the work of those three creators on display and many others!

This exhibition will also be the opportunity for us to introduce ourselves, voluntary and active members of the Marseille Design Mediterranée association, as well as all of our ever growing number of design related activities, for our greater pleasure.
