For the 2023 edition of Art-o-rama, Castiglioni presents Pack Drawing Indian Yellow Series (2023), a new series of works created by the artist Marco Pio Mucci.

Pack Drawing Indian Yellow Series (2023) explores the practice of drawing by creating mini collections of drawn cards that tell the artist’s biographical images. The work presents itself as an amateur book, halfway between a personal notebook and a collection/publication. This territory has already been explored by the artist through editorial projects such as SGOMENTO Comics. All Pack Drawings are unique pieces and are designed as works that evoke the representational methods of drawing through the art book.

The work itself is a collection of unique works and drawings, where, in addition to the subjects and techniques, Marco Pio Mucci’s research on different types of paper is shown. This research is aimed at achieving the perfect and functional representation of the marks and strokes of the pencil, ballpoint pen, and watercolor used by the artist.

For the Art-o-rama fair, the gallery and the artist present a variable number of works (between 20 and 30) displayed on the walls of the stand and on a display located in the center of the same. The aim is to exhibit the dual and unique nature of the work, both as a “editorial” format and therefore in its form as an art book, usable and consultable by the public, and as a paper work displayed on the wall, to offer a classic enjoyment to the spectator who can thus appreciate each individual drawing that makes up the final collection.
