Méditerranea Mundi
May 16 to September 6, 2026
An invitation to journey into the heart of a space unique in the world: the Mediterranean. A sea of passage and encounter, it has for millennia connected civilizations, cultures, and imaginaries.
A crossroads of history, it has witnessed the birth of myths, the circulation of knowledge, and the meeting of peoples. Even today, it remains a vibrant mirror of the tensions and the beauty of our world. A space where borders become poetic, sensations become heritage, and the horizon becomes an opening.
The exhibition brings together around twenty artists united by a shared fascination: this cradle of civilizations stretching from the sea to the islands, diving into terrestrial and marine depths to explore a mosaic of identities.
Through installation, sculpture, drawing, performance, painting, and ceramics, Mediterranea Mundi gathers intimate visions, representations, and exploratory narratives. It evokes a maritime culture woven from lands and coastlines, sacred sites, submerged cities, and millennia-old imaginaries. It questions our relationship to this plural geography, offering a gaze that moves from north to south, embracing the perspectives of coastal countries as well as more distant territories — for the Mediterranean inhabits the universal imagination.
The artists’ itinerant paths and their cultural anchoring nourish a creative universe that appropriates and embodies the Mediterranean’s many faces, where tangible reality and sensitive perception meet.
