Frac Occitanie Montpellier

Boucles, bricoles et miroirs

Brice Dellsperger

April 18 to August 20, 2026

— In partnership with the Musée régional d’Art contemporain Occitanie in Sérignan, which is presenting at the same time the exhibition Brice Dellsperger — Biche et Sara dans Le Cours des choses

The Frac Occitanie Montpellier and the Mrac Occitanie in Sérignan are jointly presenting an exhibition dedicated to the artist Brice Dellsperger, a major figure in contemporary art who has been exploring for nearly thirty years issues of gender and the construction of identities, cross-dressing, and simulacrum.

The Frac will present four recent works produced in a “home-made” aesthetic, including Body Double 40, which entered the collection in 2025. The exhibition features a scenography bringing together costumes, jewelry, and objects used in the artist’s previous films, displayed as fetishes. Certain elements from the set of the new film Body Double 41, produced by the Mrac and shot in January 2026 in the Frac’s gallery, will be visible in the installation presented at the Mrac, creating a link between the two venues and offering audiences insight into the work in progress.

Brice Dellsperger (born in 1972 in Cannes, lives and works in Paris) has been creating since 1995 remakes of cult film scenes under the series Body Double, in which he reinterprets original sequences shot by shot and word for word. His works, presented in numerous international festivals, are part of public and private collections, including the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). Since 2004, he has been teaching at the École nationale supérieure des Arts décoratifs in Paris.
He is represented by Galerie Air de Paris in Romainville.
