Géologie des âmes

Exhibition from July 8 to 30, EXTENSION: August 23 to 30, by appointment until September 13

« Il nous faut apprendre à lire ce qui pousse entre les ruines. » – Anna Tsing

Géologie des âmes evokes the idea that human subjectivities— both individual and

collective —are as complex, profound, and layered as the geology of the Earth. Each stratum, each fault line, each emotional or political sedimentation leaves a trace: the memory of trauma, colonial heritage, the loss of a connection to the living, or, conversely, attempts at repair, listening, and transmission. The works brought together here address narratives rooted in the earth, bodies, forests, archives, and post-colonial wounds—but also gestures of care, surviving presences, and reactivated myths. Organized into several chapters, the exhibition brings together contemporary artists from diverse geographical, cultural, and historical contexts. From the damaged life of the Anthropocene to the forest rituals of Eastern Europe, from intimate self-portraits to the decolonial territories of the Global South, each work is a narrative to be inhabited. Between contemplation and engagement, the artists probe the depths of the

present to extract forms of repair and plural narratives. Inspired by the thinking of Achille Mbembe, they question what it means to live in a damaged world, and how to inhabit it differently, in relation to the soil, other species, and forgotten or marginalized communities.
