Chapter 1 / WHITE WALL BLACK HOLE

In 1973, there was a wave of racist murders in Marseille, none of which were punished. Press photographs from the time are being unearthed. What can we learn from them? Can they help us trace the genealogy of this violence? Inventoried, photographed, enlarged to the point of offset, filmed on 16mm film to the point of abstraction, these images are the raw material for our formal exploration.

Chapter 2 / BIRTH OF THE WAR BIRD AND ITS CHILDREN
– BATTLE 93 49.3 – THE ANGULAR STONE (Fantasmagoria for children)

Stop motion in loops built around a paving stone found unshod in Place de la Concorde after the parade floats had passed, then thrown in Saint Denis in a fog of tear gas during the riots linked to the use of Article 49.3 of the French Constitution. Meanwhile, the war bird lays its eggs. Battle between matches and sugar cubes. Lunar chaos. In the end, or in the beginning, everything melts, everything burns. Only the pavement remains, and becomes a dirty planet.

Chapter 3 / CAVALE DREAMS, TRAVERS

An exploration of movement in a compartmentalized world. * TRAVERSER was originally conceived by Joyce Layné, Elsa Pennacchi, Raphaël Gautier, Sacha Gillard (Labo MTK and Labo Largent production de Cent Soleils, Le Bureau des Dépositions). This performance is regularly performed as a tribute to Mamadou Djouldé Baldé † who participated in its creation.

Chapter 4 / SUNSETS, ANATOMY OF FALLS, GABIANS

Let’s not be afraid. They are approaching to force us to think about our common destiny. Proceed with the sun. Fire, fire!

* Mamadou was co-author of Bureau des dépositions, where he was linked to Ben Bangoura, Aliou Diallo, Pathé Diallo, Mamy Kaba, Ousmane Kouyaté, Laye Diakité, Sarah Mekdjian, Marie Moreau, Saâ Raphaël Moundekeno. Le Bureau des dépositions is an ensemble of co-authors, co-authors of immaterial performative works located in Grenoble, who have been producing performances since 2018, including “Exercice de justice spéculative, “Minen kolotiri, sculpter le droit par le droit”. These authors, through their creations signed and produced under an indivision clause, are jointly appealing to the fundamental right to expression and creation, which stands in opposition to the infringements made legal by foreigners’ law, which prohibits work or residence, or even expels some of them. Since the death of Mamadou Djoulde Balde and the OQTF of two of the co-authors, the Bureau des dépositions has been recomposed as the Hotel-Autel des dépositions.
