From May 5 to October 2, 2024, the Musée Regards de Provence, in collaboration with the Aix Marseille Provence Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presents the exhibition “Marseille at the Maritime Heart”, which correlates with the current events of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where the port city and its harbor are in the spotlight with the organization of nautical competitions. With this in mind, the Musée Regards de Provence is showcasing the exceptional cultural heritage of the Chamber of Commerce, as a reminder of its past and of what has contributed to the history of the region: the resources of the sea, the port and navigation.

From April 27 to September 22, 2024, the Musée Regards de Provence presents the exhibition “Surfer sur la vague”, labeled Cultural Olympiad – Paris 2024, which correlates with current sporting events in Marseille, which is preparing to host the sailing events of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, even though the surfing events will take place at the mythical, large and extreme Teahupo’o wave, in Tahiti. Surfing and longboarding in Marseille are becoming increasingly popular. This artistically spectacular and bewitching sport, experienced by millions of enthusiasts and often practiced in exceptional natural settings, has taken on a strong cultural dimension and represents an inexhaustible source of inspiration for painters, sculptors, photographers, video-makers and shapers, some of whom are also surfers.
