Amalia Laurent & Marion Ellena
This project brings together works by Amalia Laurent and Marion Ellena, focusing on the fragile forms of memory : what persists, what fades, what trembles.
In Amalia Laurent’s work, large batiks become memorial surfaces where pictorial gestures, discolorations and saturations are imprinted, like so many imprints left by the passage of time. Like textile walls, these works redesign the exhibition space into a porous architecture, where each fold, each transparency, evokes the fragility of the bond, the silent transmission.
Faced with this sensitive cartography, Marion Ellena proposes a fragmented cyma: fragmented photographic extracts, off-center frames, where the image seems to vacillate between presence and disappearance. Her practice questions the capacity of the image to preserve a memory while revealing its inevitable erosion, between figuration and abstraction.
Through this tension between media – textiles, photography, space – the exhibition constructs a suspended landscape, where memory is never fixed, but in perpetual mutation. Combining the intimate and the collective, the material and the gaze, Amalia Laurent and Marion Ellena sketch out a poetics of fragment and oblivion.
