Région Sud Design Prize – Laureate 2025: Edda Rabold

Edda Rabold invites Maud Brunstein, a textile designer, to collaborate on a collection of lamps.

Two worlds collide: Edda’s, which operates at the intersection of artisanal craftsmanship and digital tools, balancing digital precision with the physical unpredictability of materials, and Maud’s, which explores colorful interactions and optical phenomena through her research into knitted fabrics.

From this collaboration emerges “Liminal”: color-shifting knitted elements combine with cast aluminum components that reveal, within the material itself, the traces of their manufacturing process. The knit fabric takes shape, shifts form, and interacts with light; the metal, meanwhile, holds it in place and provides structure.
