2018

Ribot gallery, Milan

On the occasion of ART-O-RAMA 2018, RIBOT gallery is pleased to present an exhibition project inspired by the Mediterranean tradition and poetic imagery of the “Orangerie”. A winter garden, or a green house, that gathers different kinds of typical Mediterranean cultivations, such as potted lemon and orange trees and possibly houses rare and exotic plants during the harsh season.

In a dialogue between painting and sculpture, this theme is interpreted by Lorenza Boisi (Milan, 1972, lives and works in Milan and on Lake Maggiore).

This fictional architectural space is suggested by Boisi’s sensuous wall painting, designed in situ for ART-O-RAMA. These botanical interweavings work as the background for an artist’s arrangement of several oil paintings, in various sizes, in which the naturalistic subject alternates with human figures plunged into the vegetation and with new ceramics on the floor.
