Guest Non-profit – Pony, Montreuil, Grand Paris

Solveig Burkhard (born 1998, France) is interested in the social and ecological catastrophes that shape our century, as well as the traces they leave behind. These traces, the artist captures them in the form of objects, photographs, and installations made from sites marked by history.

She weaves together traumatic narratives and post-apocalyptic imaginaries, composing environments where chaos and hope coexist. Her installations replay ordinary spaces: deserted, contaminated, as if suspended in time. From the classroom to the cabin in the woods, these allegorical places all share one common feature: they welcome children. Bodies are absent, yet continually suggested, invited to haunt, remember, and play.

For Art-o-rama, Solveig Burkhard presents a new version of Kids Return. Created in 2021, the installation reconstructs a ruined child’s bedroom, where rust-covered steel furniture holds the artist’s personal objects, gleaned remnants, and ceramic replicas. On the walls, photographs taken in Chernobyl or Fukushima replace children’s posters.
