Joseph Tang, Paris

For their second consecutive participation in ART-O-RAMA, Parisian gallery Joseph Tang presents a solo show by Chloé Quenum with a series of her recent works.

The visual language research done by Chloé Quenum in her recent visit to Benin recalls Levi Strauss’s linguistic and cultural anthropology. The scientific aspect of the research is also enriched by the personal story, the family story of Quenum. This heretical attachment, alien and familiar in some ways, has helped reshape older Quenum’s artistic forms, furthering her to build upon her patterns, motives, fabric, and elemental drawings from her work, to beyond their own defined formal structures into more interchangeable concepts.
