Freedman Fitzpatrick, Los Angeles / Paris

For ART-O-RAMA 2018, Freedman Fitzpatrick exhibits works recently presented at European institutional exhibitions by the following gallery artists: Matthew Lutz-Kinoy (b. 1984, New York, US; lives/works in Los Angeles/Paris), Cooper Jacoby (b. 1989, Princeton, US; lives/works in Los Angeles/Miami); Jill Mulleady (b. 1980 in Montevideo, Uruguay; lives/works in Los Angeles); Stefan Tcherepnin (b. 1977, Boston, US; lives/ works in Brooklyn), and Phillip Zach (b.1984 Cottbus, Germany; lives/works in Berlin/ Los Angeles). The booth underlines formal tendencies central to the five artists’ practices, while highlighting their respective artistic tendencies and the diversity of the gallery program.

One large-scale painting (acrylic on canvas) from Matthew Lutz-Kinoy‘s current solo exhibition at Le Consortium, Dijon, Southern Garden of the Château Bellevue, anchors the show, serving as a backdrop to the group presentation. Flanking the painting on the left and right wall are hang sculptural works (with sound components) by Cooper Jacoby from his recent solo exhibition “Disgorgers” at Luma Foundation, Zurich; one painting (oil on canvas) by Jill Mulleady from her solo exhibition Angst vor Angst at Kunsthalle Bern; and digital prints mounted on plexiglas by Stefan Tcherepnin from his current solo exhibition, Mad Masters, at Stedelijk, Amsterdam. Sculptural floor-works by Phillip Zach, currently being exhibited in Crashtest at La Panacée, Montpellier, are displayed on the floor of the stand.
