Than Hussein Clark
As part of his upcoming project A Little Night Music (And Reversals) at CRAC Occitanie, Than Hussein Clark has created a number of collaborations with the New York based poet James Loop. Legend 2020, a limited edition vinyl, consists of a series of ten poems written by Loop responding to a journey he made with the artist to Tangier for two months in early 2020. This journey from Sète in the South of France to Tangier by boat reverses the Mediterranean crossings that have become a constant feature of the media landscape. These poems track the journey that the writer and the artist made together during their time exploring the city while crossing their recent journey with characters and images from Tangier’s literary past in order to explore the contours of nationhood, queerness, colonialism, and historiography.
