Founded in 2011, the Modulab workshop-gallery in Metz welcomes artists and collectives from the emerging French or foreign scene whose approaches question the field of drawing, installation and multiple. Modulab develops tools for dissemination: exhibitions, publications, art editions and is committed to the artists it supports. Modulab strengthens and brings together in this collective project the skills, operating methods and tools necessary to make the work of emerging artists visible.

Modulab confirms its artistic project and consolidates its presence both in the Grand Est region and nationally and cross-border (Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany). In addition to its programme of exhibitions on its premises, the gallery develops and contributes to the development of projects outside the walls: in institutional contemporary art venues, but also in interstitial and offbeat spaces.

Modulab is present at international fairs and events that allow us to build and develop long-lasting professional relationships and to understand various ecosystems and artistic scenes (Drawing Now Art Fair, Art Paris, Luxembourg Art Week, Art-o-rama, Ceramic Bruxelles…).

Thanks to its experience and its influence on the territory, Modulab is also committed to artistic and cultural education by building unique projects in the field of visual arts in connection with its programming and through a reactive network of artists. In addition, Modulab publishes and distributes artists’ multiples in the field of art prints and promotes this work within public collections.
