Sandra Hauser
On the occasion of Art-o-rama 2026, Documents d’artistes PACA is pleased to present the work of artist Sandra Hauser.
Sandra Hauser’s artistic practice and her life are closely intertwined. Developing a conceptual body of work that takes shape through installation, sculpture, performance, video, and drawing, the artist strives to create forms rooted in personal events that, through their “translation,” acquire a materiality that allows them to be understood. Her work thus addresses the healing of trauma and the subversion of economic, social, or psychological violence.
For Art-o-rama, Sandra Hauser presents, within the commercial context of the art fair, her series Unpaid Bill Drawings—drawings created on her own unpaid bills, which can be purchased for the exact amount of the corresponding debt (between 10 and 19,590.08 euros), with payment made directly to the creditor.
As the founder of the UBD Group, the artist also invites people in debt to publish the amount of their debt and their story on the UBD Group’s website (www.unpaid-bill-drawings.com).
Documents d’artistes PACA will also present Electric Cowgirl, a filmed portrait that revisits I Would Prefer Not To, a large-scale project in collaboration with a stallion (Don Orèo) that the artist acquired through the Steiner Foundation in Munich and with whom she stages performances, among other things.
