Afternoon, Vancouver

Von Coffin

Afternoon is delighted to present new bodies of sculptural work by Seattle-based artist Von Coffin.

Von Coffin’s exploration manifests through sculpture, painting, and a unique engagement with food service. Their concept of “Neuroformalism” and “Caloric Abstraction” reconsiders the relationship between color, form, taste. Through translating sensory experience candy into visual objects, Coffin sparks contemplation on nature perception learning, echoing neuroscientist György Buzsáki’s notion matching process internal patterns external stimuli.
