Associated Project – Olivier Lubeck, Marseille

Olivier Lubeck

To mark the 20th edition of the festival, Olivier Lubeck, a visual artist working in Super 8, presents a site-specific installation gathering twenty projections that bring the map of Art-O-Rama’s territory to life.

A man and a woman reenact the Creation of Adam while another figure proclaims, beyond words of thanks, an ode to life, symbolized in golden letters by the word HABITABILITY.

This evocation refers to the Principle habitability developed by philosopher Baptiste Morizot and legal scholar Laurent Neyret, unveiled at the end of a residency at the Villa Medici in February 2026. The concept defines the value according to which respecting what produces the conditions for life’s habitability is of paramount importance.

At a time when the “anything is possible” ethos of the digital world and artificial intelligence, whose uncontrolled development threatens the very conditions of our existence, Super 8 finds its way to the entrance of the festival, as a flower emerging from the wall, an act of resistance reminding us of what truly matters.

All human beings are born and remain on a planet made habitable by life, free and equal in dignity and rights.
