We will be visiting on Saturday at 9:30am the FRAC Sud in Marseille, where we will explore two exhibitions:

 

“The Ecology of Relationships – The Forest that Loves the Sea”, which brings together Japanese artists from several generations to explore the emotional, ecological and memorial ties that connect us to our living environments. Inspired by the triple disaster of 11 March 2011 in Japan, it explores artistic practices that emerged in the ‘post-Fukushima’ years, shaped by the country’s history and rapid modernisation.

 

“Champ étoilé” by the artist duo Angela Detanico & Rafael Lain invites visitors to immerse themselves in a field of stars, somewhere between science and poetry. Drawing on more than twenty years of collaboration, the artists develop alphabets of forms that renew our perception of time, space and the universe. From a perspective that is both cosmogonic and contemplative, “Champ étoilé” explores the way in which humanity represents the cosmos and situates itself within it, inviting everyone to look up at the sky to better inhabit the present.
