For the start of the contemporary art season, TCHIKEBE invites Galerie Anne-Sarah Bénichou (Paris) for a new collaborative exhibition.

 

Entitled À feu doux, it borrows its title from the vocabulary of cooking, where time is not an obstacle but an ingredient.

 

À feu doux (on a low flame) is letting time do its work. It is accepting that not everything reveals itself immediately. Like a slow cook, certain transformations demand patience; they elude haste but reveal themselves to those who take the time to look. Time shapes, refines, and reveals landscapes, architectures, objects, bodies, and memories.

 

The thirteen artists brought together in this exhibition give form to these metamorphoses. Some are visible, others almost imperceptible. Others still are harsher, more grating, traversed by violence, wear, or irony.

 

All of them tell, in their own way, of a world that never ceases to transform.

 

À feu doux is perhaps also an invitation to slow down the gaze. To observe what is being built, erased, resisted, or reborn without a sound.
