Biographies:

 

André Fortino 

Born in Marseille in 1977, André Fortino is currently a doctoral student at the Université du Québec à Montréal, working on a research project entitled: Engager le souffle. Emancipation in performance from Theyyam to the Black Bloc.

 

His artistic practice spans a wide range of media: video and film-making, performance, painting, drawing, sculpture and installation. He has enjoyed considerable visibility in France, thanks in part to the Rendez-vous 2012 exhibition at the Institut d’Art Contemporain during the Lyon Biennale, and internationally with the solo exhibition Hôtel Formes Sauvages at the Darling Foundry in Montreal in 2015. More recently, he has produced a solo exhibition at the FRAC Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and a performance for the ACTORAL festival in Marseille in October 2019.

Lou Villapadierna

Lou Villapadierna was born in Paris in 1993, and lives between Montreal and Saint-Nazaire. She has been a doctoral student at the Université du Québec à Montréal since 2022. Her research focuses on the concept of outre-voix.

 

Lou Villapadierna’s main practice is writing, and he explores performance as a means of staging his texts.
