Jacques-Henri Hostyn Prize

The Beaux-Arts de Marseille is pleased to announce the creation of the Jacques-Henri Hostyn Prize, a new award designed to support young painters who have graduated from the school.

Thanks to a generous bequest made to the Fondation de France by the Hostyn couple, six graduates from the classes of 2025 and 2026 will each receive a grant of €4,000, dedicated to the development of their painting practice.

By choosing to dedicate a portion of their estate to supporting emerging artists, the Hostyns sought to perpetuate their commitment to painting and contribute to the future of new generations of artists.

This award, selected by a jury of professionals assembled for the occasion, will be presented during the opening of Art-o-rama, where the names of the six winners will be announced.

The Jacques-Henri Hostyn Foundation will award prizes to graduates from three French art schools: Bordeaux, Marseille, and Nantes.

The Marseille School of Fine Arts extends its warmest thanks to the Fondation de France, which made the creation of this prize possible by ensuring that the donors’ wishes were respected.

2026 Jury: Sylvie Fajfrowska (painter, professor at the Marseille School of Fine Arts), Valérie Janin or her/his representative (Head of Synergy and Partnerships at the Fondation de France), Laure Lamarre-Florès (director of the Fernand Léger Arts Center, Port de Bouc), Nina Leger (writer, Ph.D. in art theory, resident at the Villa Medici 2026–2027, professor at the Marseille School of Fine Arts), Inge Linder-Gaillard (director of the Marseille School of Fine Arts), Martine Robin (director of the Château de Servières, Marseille), Nina Rodrigues-Ely (director of the Observatoire de l’art contemporain, Paris).
