On Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., we will visit Florian Monfrini’s studio, located north of Avignon.

 

Born in Montpellier in 1986, Florian Monfrini develops an artistic practice closely connected to landscape, living systems, and agricultural uses from his studio, Le Bresquet, north of Avignon. Through its location, history, and ongoing transformation, the site has become the very core of his practice: a space where artistic activity is inseparable from the acts of building and cultivating. Conceived as a total artwork shaped by an agro-sylvo-pastoral logic, the project explores a sensitive and ecosystemic approach to inhabiting, cultivating, and creating. It represents an attempt to “think the conditions of the environment” through a form of painting whose brushwork apprehends the density of causal relationships as texture.
