Good Weather, Chicago / Little Rock / North Little Rock

Tinted with humor and psychosexual undertones, Raque Ford’s writing draws from sources like pop music, social media, travel, retail spaces, and the quotidian experiences of growing up between the Mid-Atlantic coast and New York City. Through poetry, fictional writing, and personal accounts of the world, she expresses and reveals an active inner dialogue that idiosyncratically forms the core of her language-driven art practice. Text is interwoven through sculptures, paintings, and immersive installations often utilizing Fluxus strategies and a subversive (punk) nature that mimics (and amalgamates) the aesthetic traditions of hegemonic art movements like Minimalism, Conceptual Art, Op Art, and Abstract Expressionism.

Raque Ford lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Her solo exhibitions and public commissions include Greene Naftali (New York), Whitney Museum of American Art (New York), Kunstverein Gartenhaus, (Vienna), Good Weather (Chicago), The Print Center, (Philadelphia), MoMA PS1 (New York), and 321 Gallery (New York), among others. She also participated in significant group shows, including Buffalo AKG Art Museum (Buffalo), Greater New York at MoMA PS1 (New York), White Columns (New York), Gianni Manhattan (Vienna), and SculptureCenter (New York).

Ford’s work is in the collections of the High Museum of Art (Atlanta), The Museum of Modern Art (New York), and the Whitney Museum of American Art (New York). She currently has a site-specific intervention at the Fridericianum (Kassel) and will open a forthcoming solo exhibition in Mike Kelley’s Mobile Homestead at the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) in July 2027.
