A major figure in contemporary photography and member of Magnum Photos, Martin Parr has cast an ironic, critical, and profoundly human eye on our societies for nearly fifty years. Conceived in collaboration with Magnum Photos, this exhibition pays tribute to an essential body of work that explores ordinary rituals, leisure, and collective behaviours. The show brings together nine emblematic series, from his early black-and-white works to the colour images that became his signature. Through an immediately recognisable aesthetic, his work reveals with acuity the contradictions of the contemporary world. Between humour, satire, and anthropological observation, Short & Sweet invites us to cast a renewed gaze on our everyday lives.
