Liturgical lethargy is a game with words that encompasses the pictorial series that is exhibited at Art-o-rama, and whose images delve into the mental and emotional states characteristic of the processes of hibernation and rest.
The paintings refer to the liminal states between wakefulness and sleep and the perceptions of the subtle world that emerge in these states, as if fixing the experience of an exacerbated state of sensitivity. The series adopts the atmosphere of physical recovery processes, with the night and the traces of the recent crisis as its landscape. The arrangement of the elements on the stand seek to create a sensation of “oceanic unity” between the different canvases and papers, so that they feel traversed by the flow of a dark water that washes over the paintings, like a restorative and disruptive element at the same time, or as if an invisible and incomprehensible breeze was blowing through them all.
