Castiglioni, Milan
Flaminia Veronesi
On the occasion of ART-O-RAMA Castiglioni proposes an exhibition that invites us to repossess the use of the symbol as a metaphor: a game that allows each person to formulate a visual and imaginary language to understand reality and connect with the potential of the imagination. By intervening on the exhibition stand and producing a series of site-specific works for the fair, Castiglioni creates an environment where the viewer can find himself immersed in the fantastic and imaginary world of Flaminia Veronesi.
A portal, an open door to a world that invites the public to focus their gaze, moving from an overall dimension to gradually focus on small details. A constellation of several interconnected stars that create multiple layers of reading and intimacy to Flaminia’s work.
Flaminia’s creatures travel from very small and fragile, to very bulky, to ecstatic brushstrokes, in order to perceive a collective identity that then separates. In a post-apocalyptic world, if hierarchies and discrimination arise from separation and the principle of non-contradiction, community is created instead from contradiction. An exhibition in a ‘public’ form of art. A dazzling emotion in sharing responsibility for the Absurd.
