CASTEL CARAMEL is a private cultural platform in the South of France in the vicinity of Menton which once served as the atelier of the renowned Austrian artist Ernst Fuchs. More than just an artist studio, it offered a forum for exchange between artists, curators, poets, musicians and collectors.
It is Castel Caramel’s vision to continue the legacy of Fuchs through annual residencies for contemporary artists and associated events to support the arts community across the Riviera and to inject dynamism into the traditional art landscape of the Côte d’Azur, aiming to facilitate meaningful interactions between artists and the cultural community.
Since its establishment, the program has hosted important voices such as Chloe Wise, Jill Mulleady, Korakrit Arunanondchai, Sedrick Chisom and Stefanie Heinze. Inspired by Ernst Fuchs, Castel Caramel’s residency program seeks to nurture a new generation of patrons while fostering community-building around contemporary art. This summer we will be hosting artist Henry Curchod in collaboration with New York / Los Angeles based gallery C L E A R I N G.
