Monty Richthofen

For ART-O-RAMA 2025, Monty Richthofen expands upon the conceptual and aesthetic vocabulary of his recent solo exhibition Swallowed Bullets at DITTRICH & SCHLECHTRIEM.

 

The presentation features a new series of text-based paintings that continue his exploration of vulnerability, intimacy, and resistance through poetic fragments rendered with sharp graphic clarity. These are complemented by a new suite of drawings—framed behind grey-tinted plexiglass—that echo the tension between revelation and concealment.

 

The booth also includes a wall installation incorporating a textual intervention, the content of which is partially obscured and abstracted by the layered placement of the paintings and drawings, creating a provocative visual play.
