A year and a half after its Parisian opening, the gallery moves to Marseille. The gallery’s new home, LA PLAGE, is a former fisherman’s house with multiple vantage points overlooking the sea. The gallery returns to the very DNA of its name, “Spiaggia Libera”, Italian for “free beach”.
LA PLAGE will open its doors on August 28 with an inaugural exhibition, “Odyssea”, bringing together some 15 artists from the gallery’s program, artists based in Marseille, as well as new works.
The first exhibition, “Odyssea”, will focus on the mermaid as a figure of emancipation, fluidity and metamorphosis.
