ART-O-RAMA, Marseille
International Fair
of Contemporary Art
26, 27 & 28 Aug. 2016

ART-O-RAMA is resident of La Friche la Belle de Mai.

For the ten-year anniversary, ART-O-RAMA is pleased to present an exclusive selection of 20 of the most active and avant-garde international contemporary art galleries, next to a section dedicated to art editions and multiples consisting of seven exclusive publishers.

Each participant, whether gallery or publisher, is given the unique opportunity to design their booth according to their own project, creating a diversity of layouts. The individual attention to booth design and presentation is a central element of ART-O-RAMA and insures a renewal of propositions as well as a coherence of the general layout of the fair each year. Some galleries are less than a year old and their participation at ART-O-RAMA will be their first participation in an art fair ever. This highlights the fair’s dedication to new galleries and young positions.

Combining artistic projects and publications, the fair has invited two non-profit organizations. Barcelona-based non-profit collective The Green Parrot and Bari-based 63rd-77th STEPS - Art Project Staircase, to present site-specific projects. As well as Rafaela Lopez, a young artist graduated from a fine arts school of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, who ART-O-RAMA has supported with a production grant for her site-specific project and her first ever monograph. Lopez was selected by last year’s galleries from the artists presented in the curated Show Room section. For the 10th edition, this section is hosted by the Italian curator Luigi Fassi, who is currently based in Graz.

On Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 August visitors are invited to attend a series of talks organised by French art critic Cédric Aurelle dedicated to the themes of polarisation and the emergence of new contemporary art scenes.

ART-O-RAMA is the perfect time to visit the rich programming of exhibitions, performances, screenings, and live concerts at La Friche la Belle de Mai and show openings throughout the city of Marseille.
